Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has worked with the Miami Dade College and other partners to develop a shared long-term vision of career pathway components, from student orientations and career goal setting to contextualized instruction linked to countywide economic development goals. During the Great Cities Adult Education Summits, the Miami partners also addressed the alignment of adult education to related literacy and support service systems including libraries, community-based organizations, the homeless continuum of care, and the regional workforce board.
M-DCPS is coordinating the research project and outreach to diverse adult literacy partner organizations in Miami. Co-PI Mark Needle also serves on the board of the nonprofit Florida Career Pathways Network.
